Khyber | Indian fare with a Palm view
How would you fancy a North Indian dinner with a 180-degree view of the Palm? Yes, please! Khyber, located at the Dukes Dubai Oceana offers that famous view side by side a traditional Indian ambience. We were at this hotel for a duo evening and Khyber was Part 2 on our list (read about Part 1 here).
Specializing in North Indian cuisine, Khyber has come up with a 3 course summer menu that offers a choice of starter, main and dessert for just AED 100 per person. We chose to go with this promotion along with a couple of mocktails on the side. Read on to find out what we tried from the summer menu and whether it really is worth the AED 100 tag.
Starters
For starters, we chose to go for Paneer Tikka and Murgh Tikka Abeer. The different sauces used to marinate the paneer cubes were incredible. We loved the chargrilled preparation that gave the paneer a crusty texture. The chicken tikkas were absolutely tender and juicy. Coated in a mild spicy marinade, each piece was full of flavor with a subtle burnt texture.
Other starter options available to choose from included Dal Shorba, Punjabi Samosa Chaat, Keema Seekh Kebab, Fish Tikka and Chicken Tikka Salad. I am definitely going for the Keema Seekh and Fish Tikka on my next visit.
Mains
When it was time for mains, we picked two crowd pleasers recommended by the staff at Khyber. The Murgh Methi was fab. Right from the creamy texture of the gravy and the perfect mix of flavors to the boneless chicken pieces, everything about this dish was brilliant. I loved this gravy coupled with the garlic naan. A favorite for many, the Gosht Rogan Josh made an ideal accompaniment to both carbs. Although I preferred having it with rice which perfectly balanced out the spicy touch in the mutton gravy.
If you’re not a fan of either of these bestsellers, you can always go for their seafood option Machhi Masala or pick one of their vegetarian mains from Palak Paneer, Aloo Gobhi or Baigan Bhartha.
Desserts
For desserts, we skipped the Rabri and went for Gulab Jamun and Gajar Halwa instead. Served warm, both these desserts symbolize Indian cuisine like none other and made the perfect end to our meal.
The summer menu is priced at AED 100 per person and is valid until 30 September 2018.

#RashidaReviews
Priced at AED 100 per person for a 3-course meal, the summer menu at Khyber is brilliant. Make sure you go in a big group and try out all their starters. I highly recommend the Paneer Tikka from the starters and Murgh Methi from mains. I know I will be going back soon to try the rest!
