Logma at The Dubai Mall – new location, same delicious Khaleeji fare
One of the top crowd favorites in Dubai, Logma’s new outlet at The Dubai Mall takes the whole concept of Khaleeji treats and Emirati fusion fare in a modern setting one step further. Step in to this Fashion Avenue Extension eatery and expect to be greeted by plush interiors, earthy tones, new age lamps and Logma’s signature blue & red hues, all balancing just right with the traditional oil lamp lights and staff sporting ethnic fusion attire.
What’s more, this outlet combines Logma’s regular menu with their new venture Sukkar under one roof. So you can enjoy your fries and biryani along with a big slice of milk cake and some delicious luqaimat at the very same spot.
Khaleeji Wings
One of most creative and spiciest wings I have ever had, Khaleeji Wings from Logma are a total must have. What I enjoy the most about these wings though, apart from the tender juicy meat of course, is the fact that they are covered in a mix of spicy chilies and herbs which add so much flavor to the chicken. Not to forget the crunchy coating that makes every bite a really tempting one.
Logma Fries
The crispiest fries in town, these are the bestsellers at Logma ever since they got into business, and rightly so. I have so much to say about how I’m in love with these fries, I honestly don’t know where to start. These freshly cut spuds are generously spiced with their secret mix of Khaleeji spices and crisp herbs which takes the flavor and crunch to a whole new level. These fries are so famous, you’ll definitely see one portion (or more) on every table. So much so, that you can go to Logma and order just these, and no one will judge you.
Cheese Samboosa
Another bestseller from Logma these are the cheesiest Samboosas you’ll ever eat. Covered in a thin pastry sheet and fried to crisp perfection, these cheese samboosa pieces hide extremely creamy cheesy goodness within mixed with the classic childhood favorite combination – Oman chips! The cheese is so decadent, it’s like biting into a cloud, really! And the spicy dusting of their secret spices on top just makes them look so picture perfect.
Fish Biryani
Biryani, Paratha or Khameer (or all)? What’s on your plate at Logma?
While I tried all of these at Logma’s new outlet at The Dubai Mall, what I surprisingly loved the most was their Fish Biryani. Although I like fish items for starters and quick bites, I had never ever really considered a fish biryani on its own. I just thought I could never make myself do it. But alas! I finally crossed the bridge into ordering an entire fish biryani at Logma, and I can only say I am glad I did. They use fried hammour fish which is completely void of the fishy smell. Moreover the aromatic biryani spices and the rice itself enhance the overall fragrance of the dish. The spices were simply perfect as they are in all their biryani varieties. But having said all that, I am still going to go back and order my favorite chicken biryani very soon.
Kabab Paratha
The Kabab Paratha was another commendable dish. Served like a taco, this has to be eaten like a kabab roll. Stuffed generously with cucumber, onion and radish fillings along with tahini and pickle sauce, this baked kabab roll would make a hearty lunch or dinner. (I had the other half the next day)
Tikka Khameer
The Tikka Khameer, although good, was slightly different from what I had expected. While I hoped for the spicy tandoori flavor, the chicken had more of a South Indian curry leaf and coconut essence. The khameer bread though, was just right – fresh warm doughy. I am probably going to have a plain khameer with their karak the next time I am at Logma. And maybe some biryani too 😉
Horlick’s Milk Cake
This is possibly the best trend that has emerged in D town over the past few months. And while everyone’s jumped on the bandwagon with a variety of one or two of milk cakes, Logma has come up with the new concept of Sukkar and has taken the Tres Leches trend very seriously with its extensive line up of milk cakes in classic and creative flavors.
Ever since I laid my eyes on the Sukkar menu (a few months back), I had my heart set on the coconut milk cake. What made me even happier is that The Dubai Mall outlet of Logma serves the entire Sukkar desserts menu under the same roof! But I was a little disappointed to find out they didn’t have my ultimate favorite coconut flavor in shop that evening 🙁
Anyway, I chose to go with my second best Horlick’s milk cake and it was simply wow! The density of the cake is what makes or breaks this dessert, and needless to say, it was just PERFECT. Soaked in Horlick’s flavored milk and served with a whipped cream and Frosties garnish, this was literally the best thing from my evening at Logma.
Nutella Well
Another crowd favorite we opted for was The Nutella Well.
What more could you possibly wish for than Nutella oozing out of that moist, perfectly dense cake? The raspberry garnish balanced out the sweetness with the right amount of tart. And the vanilla ice cream was refreshingly cold. These two desserts are what sweet dreams are made of.
