I went to The Coffee Club. And now my life is great!
Everything about life is uncertain. You take a new risk everyday. Especially when it comes to food. But good food combined with the perfect ambience is what makes the risk worth it. That’s what The Coffee Club is all about.
From dim lighting, and Instagram worthy interiors, to knowledgeable staff, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere, these are some of the many good things about this resto-Café. More than just a coffee shop, we visited the branch which is located in Wasl Vita opposite Galleria Mall, and is the ideal place for anything little or large.
Whether you are looking for a cup of coffee, all day breakfast, or some delicious burgers and pasta, they have got it all. We tried out some of their bestsellers which I’ll be showcasing in this post. Read on…
The Coffee Club is all about beauty, so we started off with two of these gorgeous creations from their drinks menu.
Chocolate Brownie Frappé
The Chocolate Brownie Frappé was a lovely blend of milk, chocolate and coffee flavors, topped with tons of whipped cream and absolutely decadent brownie pieces.
Passionate Frappé
The Passionate Frappé came with flavors of raspberry in a slush consistency which made a really refreshing drink to begin our meal with.
While the latter is perfect for the upcoming (or already here) summers, the former is quite rich in terms of its ingredients, so you might want to balance that with a less indulgent food item. But I would suggest go there with a couple of friends so you can try out all their bestsellers, and still feel light.
Arabian Scrambled Eggs and Mushrooms
From the brunch favorites at The Coffee Club, we tried the Arabian Scrambled Eggs and Mushrooms. Stacked up on a crusty bread infused with za’atar and olive oil, the creamy scrambled eggs were a complete delight.
This was further enhanced with absolutely delicious Portobello mushrooms, which made a star appearance in this dish. Supporting the eggs and mushrooms with its fresh flavors was the spinach. The final finish was the lovely dash of goat cheese cream on the plate.
BBQ Chicken Wings
Nothing quite satisfies mid afternoon cravings like chicken wings. And I’m fasting today, which makes it even more difficult to look at these tempting food pictures.
These crispy and saucy BBQ Chicken Wings are highly rated bestsellers from The Coffee Club menu. 🍗🍗🍗
Tangy in taste they are marinated with BBQ sauce and served with more of it. We got our hands all messy with this generous portion of six pieces, which were over in no time, but it was totally worth it. Friendly tip: order these and eat them with hands.
Chicken Schnitzel
Chicken. It’s my favorite meat. And fried chicken is my favorite type. So there was no way I could give this Chicken Schnitzel at The Coffee Club a miss. This one featured a chicken breast fried to crisp perfection and was generously topped with fennel, radish, peas and parmesan. So much of winter in one dish, and that too during the start of Dubai summers, I couldn’t all got any better.
But this dish did get better, what with its creamy Italian slaw. This not only added a lovely vegetable mix to balance the protein, but also made the presentation so picturesque. Try this out, or go for the classic Chicken Parmigiana with marinara sauce and cheese, which is another bestseller at The Coffee Club.
Cinnamon French Toast
It’s never a good idea to say no to French Toast. Especially when it is so decked up like this one at The Coffee Club. A part of their new menu and a dish they really love to talk about, this one was a special recommendation by restaurant manager Keith.
He took time to explain us how the Cinnamon French Toast came with a soft brioche bread which was generously topped with loads of seasonal berries and drizzle with sweet caramel sauce. But what I really loved about this dessert dish is the creamy dollop of cinnamon infused ricotta. It had a unique nutty flavor to it, which felt almost like almond butter. Not a big fan of caramel, next time I would ask them to replace it with chocolate sauce. And there will be a next time!
Famous Coconut Hotcakes
This one makes the perfect choice for dessert or even an entire meal, no matter whether you are there for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, or just a quick bite.
To wrap up on yet another sweet note, our server Kenny happily suggested we try out the Famous Coconut Hotcakes. I must say, we were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing one of their many many pancakes. I mean, The Coffee Club has everything you would want from a pancake variety. Right from berry flavoured and Nutella rich to cinnamon infused, caramelized and red velvet pancakes – they have it all.
My choice was solely based on my never ending love for coconut, and I was not disappointed even one bit. Except that I was too full by the end of our dinner to try out two of the pancakes. Or else the mixed berry pancakes with Nutella would have surely got their chance.
These fluffy coconut hotcakes, made with a creamy coconut milk batter, came stacked one on top of the other. Their flavor was further enhanced with caramelized bananas and candied cashews. So much of goodness in every bite, these are definitely worth a try.
But next time, Nutella is definitely in for the win.
