The Farzified Breakfast Menu at Farzi Café

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? So there was no way we could miss the newly launched breakfast menu at one of the most happening places in town – Farzi Café. And believe me, there’s something magical about waking up for a relaxed breakfast on a Saturday morning in this beautiful season.

Featuring an egg dominant menu, which has eggs prepared in different styles, we were amazed at their sheer variety of global breakfast classics infused with an Indian Farzified twist, so much so that we had to forego ordering a couple of favorites since we were so stuffed with everything we had (second visit is on the cards!). Our server Sheriff who loves working in this Farzified Indian restaurant says he is very proud of the chefs in Farzi’s kitchen who whip up these creations. And it’s this very feeling that allows him to recommend anything off the menu with confidence to his diners. That’s definitely a win-win!

By the time you finish reading this post, you will definitely want to start your next weekend at Farzi Café

Karak Chai

To start off our breakfast at Farzi Café, we had the classic Karak Chai which is quite a rage in this country.

The taste of this soothing milk tea will definitely charm you, but that’s only after you’ve gotten over the unique presentation of this very simple beverage. Filled in a rustic copper vessel which is placed elevated on a stand, this warm tea beautifully pours in to textured China ramekins. Just watching the cup fill up is such a wonderful sight.

Eggs Benedict

The first eggs-citing dish on our breakfast menu was the very Indianized Eggs Benedict. A whole and hearty meal, honestly good for two, this dish includes a little of everything you would need to satiate your morning palate.

Two massive pieces of bread were layered with spicy masala chicken ragout which was cooked in the proper desi tawa style, and topped with slow cooked poached eggs. If this was not enough, there were a lot of sides to accompany these Indian eggs and mince combination. It started with the very healthy grilled egg white pie, the slightly indulgent potato wedges topped with cheese, fresh rocket and cherry tomatoes, and a dash of spicy mint chutney.

This dish would most likely be the only thing I would have ordered if I was visiting by myself (and would have got half of it packed), but the sheer goodness of the variety and colors on the plate totally fascinated me. This was my instant favorite and I would highly recommend you order this. You should in fact visit Farzi Café during their breakfast hours from 10 am to 12 noon just for this dish!

Parantha Mexicana

No breakfast is complete without some Parathas, and what could be more interesting than having these wheat delights merged with the breakfast classic omelettes! Giving these dhaba favorites a global appeal, the Parantha Mexicana at Farzi Café comes bite sized pieces of onion parathas layered with Mexican styled egg omelettes, infused with pepperjack cheese. So much goodness, no? But that’s not all. There lot of other Mexican favorites on this plate – refried beans, nachos, salsa and jalapenos – the whole package!

What I loved a lot about these parathas, even though they looked like they would leave me stuffed, yet they were so light. And the nachos mix on the side gave the whole dish a very playful appeal.

You should definitely make some space and plan the Farzi Café breakfast this weekend. With a variety of vegetarian and meat breakfast favorites to choose from, it’s one meal you won’t regret.

Farzi Smoke

You know you are in Farzi Café when there is lot of smoke presentation and lot of theater. One of their star drinks on the menu, the Farzi Smoke was a true delight. So refreshingly sweet, this really wakes you up – first with its dry ice drama and then with its tangy sweet taste. This chilled drink has lots of orange in it, but the color makes that ingredient a giveaway. The secret lies in all its elements that blend together to create this one of a kind creation – from the tangy orange and sour lemon juice to the sweet vanilla and fragrant kaffir lime leaves – everything comes together in perfect harmony.

If you love your morning OJ, then this should definitely be on your list of must haves in Dubai.

Beef Boti Hash

Staying true to the Parsi roots of Farzi Café was the Beef Boti Hash. Plated in a very rustic fashion on a wooden slab, this meaty breakfast dish featured chunky glazed beef pieces. The meat was mixed with cherry tomatoes and layered over crispy potato hash browns. It kind of reminded me of a deconstructed steak which has beef ragout instead of a fillet and hash browns instead of mash. But that’s just my mind on a fun ride.

What really took my heart away was the extremely cheesy grilled toast topped with melted cheese and a hint of garlic and herbs.
I’m not a very big beef fan, especially when it comes to beef pieces, but this one did take some cake. If you are a die hard meat aficionado, then you definitely have to order this.

Bootlegger

This drink has been my favorite ever since the launch of Farzi Café’s new menu. That’s where I tried it for the first time.

Titled Bootlegger, this drink boasts of a dramatic entry. The drink combines muddled cucumber with pomegranate seeds, a dash of spicy cumin and aromatic lemongrass. It is served amidst a smoky dry ice presentation, adding all that mystery. But it’s not just the lemongrass that lends its aroma to this special drink. You can actually take in the beautiful fragrance of cucumber seeds in all that smoke. It works at tingling your olfactory senses even before you have taken in a sip, or for that matter, seen how this mocktail is presented.

Lemon Quinoa

On my first visit to Farzi Café, I tried the Cayenne Spiked prawns served with South Indian styled lemon rice. And needless to say, being a prawn lover, I loved that dish.

This was exactly like that lemon rice, just so much more healthier. The Lemon Quinoa came flavored with South Indian spices. It was topped with masala roasted peanuts and accompanied by buttered and tempered asparagus, baby corn and baby carrots. The burnt lemon to the side highlighted the predominant flavor of quinoa and lent the presentation a very rustic look.

Looking for something closer to home? Opt for the Power Nut Poha that comes in a veg and non-veg version. That’s definitely going to be my choice of breakfast on my next visit to Farzi Café.

French Toast Jenga

The French Toast Jenga, Farzi Café’s breakfast dessert really took the cake. It was like nutella heaven in here!

My favorite off their breakfast menu, this completely changed my perception about French Toast. They might be a little unconventional from what you’d expect, but are delicious. These toasts come with Nutella rolled up within where every bite oozes out extreme chocolate-hazelnut goodness. The French toasts are served with coffee cream, fresh berries and more Nutella. You definitely have to try this to end your Farzi Café breakfast on a sweet note.

P.S. I ate two out of three despite being stuffed, so you can imagine how good these were.
