Natural & Organic Burgers at Bareburger
The last menu tasting of the year was at the very new burger restaurant in Dubai Festival City Mall. Conceptualized in USA, and spread across the world, Bareburger is not just a new restaurant, but brings across a refreshing concept of organic, au natural and clean eating. Serving the best meats, chicken, vegetables and dressings, Bareburger goes beyond offering burgers with a variety of healthy salads, filling sandwiches and snacky sides along with some cooling drinks and soothing shakes.
Think non-hormone chicken from local farms, grass fed and supplemented beef, local vegetable produce, arabica coffee beans, Madagascar vanilla and home made cacao bean chocolate sauce. Wow! right?
Their organic functionality does not end at food. The interiors of the restaurant are all made from recycled and reclaimed materials. Be it the wooden tables made from recycled wood, reclaimed glass pieces, metal roof adorning the ceilings or the papier mache bear heads on the walls, biodegradable take away containers and recycled paper for tissues. Even the orchids that prettify the tables are real flowers, not plastic ones!
Go to Bareburger for an extra-ordinary experience. And also if you want to sample some exotic burgers with camel meat, venison and more!
It’s always good to cool off before indulging in meaty goodness. And Bareburger offers a refreshing choice. We tried two of their signatures – Passion Fruit Mojito and Grapefruit Basil Spritzer.
While the former came with passion fruit and it’s seeds, along with mint and lime soda; the latter came with ginger ale and grapefruit juice muddled with fresh ginger and basil.
We also tried the award winning Antipodes sparkling water from New Zealand. Unlike other sparkling waters that make you feel bloated, this citrusy one was spot on thirst quenching.
Cali Fresh
The Cali Fresh salad under the Greens section at Bareburger offers a gluten free (and guilt free) combination of ingredients that will make you happy. Not just by the looks, but with the taste as well.
Starting with a base of fresh crunchy kale, this salad is enhanced with super foods like quinoa and alfalfa. More color is added to this lively mix with grape tomatoes, radish and onions. And don’t miss the creamy and quite contemporary hummus scoop drizzled with lemon vinaigrette.
So fresh and filling, this one is going to take me back to Bareburger. They also have the classic Caesar and the more experimental Hudson with duck bacon, Guapo Chop which is very Mexican, and Freekeh-pea, their version of Greek salad.
Try them all. I know I will.
Macho Fries
Macho in looks, macho in size and definitely macho on flavor, the Macho Fries at Bareburger come with generous toppings and are good to share for a table of four.
These Mexican-Californian inspired fries are prepared to order using fleshy spuds tossed with spicy Pico de Gallo, gouda cheese and pickled jalapenos. They are served with a drizzle of buttermilk ranch sauce and a scoop of creamy guacamole to top off all that deliciousness.
This one is a must order. And if you prefer, you can also opt for sweet potato for an additional cost.
Bareburger has a really cool section called Be My Burger where you can customize your own burger from an extensive range of meats, bread, cheese, greens, sauces and spreads. However, we chose to go with their signature creations.
County Fare
Here’s the first burger we tried at Bareburger. This one is called County Fare. Originally served with Hereford prime beef, we swapped it with buttermilk fried chicken. What’s so good about this chicken you ask. Well, it’s fried! And because it’s fried, they use the chicken thigh to make sure the meat stays juicy and doesn’t dry out. This chicken is marinated overnight in a labneh and paprika mix, spiced with salt and pepper.
Layered along with this crunchy chicken is aged cheddar cheese, onions, dill pickles and tomatoes on a bed of fresh leaves. Slathered with mayo, the burger is packed in a brioche bun.
I would go back simply to have more of that buttermilk fried chicken. So good, really!
Mexican El Matador
Part II of the burger run at Bareburger was this spicy Mexican El Matador. Since we out on a chick night, we swapped the Hereford prime beef in this signature creation with their lemon grilled chicken. One thing to note about Bareburger is that all their chicken is sourced from local farms and is absolutely hormone free. So no unwarranted weight gain!
The lemon grilled chicken, unlike the buttermilk fried, uses chicken breast which is marinated overnight in a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil, thyme, salt and pepper.
Deliciously tender in every bite, this burger packs the grilled chick with pickled jalapenos, spicy Pico de Gallo, guacamole, cheddar and crunchy leaves in a soft brioche bun.
Bareburger doesn’t just stop at beef and chicken. They also offer wild camel meat, venison and lamb for carnivores, as well as mushroom, sweet potato and quinoa for herbivores among their signature burgers collection. All this might seem quite heavy, but it surprisingly was quite light yet filling.
Chocolate Brownie
Who doesn’t fancy a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream? We all do. But this is not just any brownie and any ice cream. When it comes to Bareburger, nothing is a plain Jane.
This chocolate brownie, inspired from Fruit & Nut chocolate comes studded with dried nuts and fruits like raisins, peaches, almonds and more. The brownie itself is made from chocolate which is prepared in-house using Belgian cocoa beans. And that creamy scoop of ice cream you see, is also made in-house from organic milk flavored with Madagascar vanilla.
So much goodness in every bite, right! Try this contemporary classic and you won’t be disappointed.
Be My Sammie
We were honestly really full with the brownie, but Bareburger’s friendly manager Chris recommended we try this one too.
Be My Sammie is basically the ice cream sandwich version of Be My Burger, where you get to choose your favorite cookie, your favorite sauce and either chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
The best part, in addition to their homemade organic milk ice cream and Belgian cocoa chocolate, their cookies are also made in-house!
We chose the double chocolate cookie sandwiching the vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. And it was wow!
The cookie, thanks to its home made nature, wasn’t too crumbly. It was rather soft, just how I like it. And we already know how good their chocolate and ice cream are.
Try this one and make your own combination.
