That Cheesy Affair at Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck
I am sure everyone knows how deeply I am in love with Burrata cheese. If you didn’t know that already, now you do. So when I received an invitation to attend a Burrata & Friends night at the Michelin starred chef Heinz Beck’s Taste of Italy, there was no way I could refuse.
This event, held on Thursday, Dec 15th in the restaurant in Galleria Mall, was undoubtedly, the cheesiest night in town. By cheesy I mean, it involved sampling some of the freshest Burrata and mozzarella along with a selection of different gourmand cheese.
We reached there a little early on to take in all the behind the scenes action and get some good pictures (of course!). The restaurant is beautifully designed. With high ceilings and spaced out dining amidst a variety of rustic furniture and authentic Italian ingredients, Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck features various live stations for different courses.
There’s one for pasta, one for bread, one, obviously for cheese, and then for desserts and gelato as well. The items are all neatly displayed in counters that allow diners to see how fresh they are. Plus, there is so much goodness to choose from.
Take a look at these oh-so-tempting plates of freshly prepared mozzarella cheese.
For this evening event, Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck had a special Burrata Station pop up in their outdoor seating area. Perfectly complementing the weather, they served a generous scoop of fresh Burrata in a paper cup along with your choice of sauce. And the assortment was mighty. From the exquisite truffle oil to olive tepanade, red and green pesto, tomato paste, garlic conserve and so much more, it was a great way to see how different flavors enhance the creaminess of Burrata is such a variety of ways.
The outdoors also had a display of a selection of Italian cheese with nuts and conserves. These were all made from either cow’s milk or sheep milk. Although I am not a very big fan of aged cheese, they just look so beautifully rustic, I did end up trying out a couple of these.
They also had a lovely selection of finger food to nibble on – pizza breads, sandwiches, cheese and bresaola, well, take a look for yourself.
And of course, there were these absolutely refreshing drinks. We tried the Basil lemonade first and then moved on to the Iced Tea Mojito. With such great combination of flavors and a very refreshing taste, these were spot on.
Our cheese night was totally satisfying, but what’s more wonderful is they sell a host of pastas, sauces and oils in-store so you can always pick up your favorites and try your hand at one of Chef Heinz Beck’s creations at home. Don’t forget to pack some of that delicious cheese.
