Kulfilicious | Deira
Barf Gola, Falooda, or Kulfi? What’s your choice of indulgence? Tired of the shooting mercury levels, we made a quick stop at the city’s favorite dessert place Kulfilicious and decided to indulge in some of their natural kulfi ice creams and faloodas. One of the best chains in D town for everything kulfi, this place is strategically located all across the prime spots in the city and is quite well known for its quirky interiors, and of course Kulfi!
The menu was uber extensive with a never ending variety of all natural kulfi flavors, some not so humble faloodas and a few gorgeous shakes, but we were the most surprised to see a bunch of different barf golas there in flavors that are completely unheard of.
Barf ka gola has been very close to my heart ever since I was a kid. Something about those vibrant colors, tangy flavors and the fact that I was almost never allowed to eat them got me even more hooked to these golas. Thankfully my immunity has gotten stronger and the golas more hygienic like this one which we asked for with a mix of raw mango and all time favorite kalakhatta flavors. But we obviously couldn’t miss out on all the other things they had to offer. So we picked a couple of kulfis, one giant falooda and one equally large milkshake to cover everything on the list. From our Banarasi Paan and Black Pepper kulfis, we loved the paan flavored a little more than black pepper. The gulkand taste in the former was extraordinary, but I also really liked the spicy kick in the latter. I would have liked the kulfis to be more colorful than they were, but it’s good to know that Kulfilicious doesn’t use any artificial colors or flavorings for their ice creams. Everything is prepared with natural and fresh ingredients and has a very short shelf life, which means if it doesn’t get picked up within that time frame, it goes straight to the bin. While assuring the authenticity and freshness of the kulfis to us, the owner also mentioned that they hardly ever face a situation where the kulfis have overstayed their life and have to be thrown out. Thanks to the variety and people’s love for good kulfi, they are always in high demand. Which flavor would you choose for your kulfi – something fruity or nutty?
When it came to falooda and milkshake, she recommended we try the Sultani Falooda and Alhambra shake – both of which are their bestsellers. The Sultani Falooda was definitely one of a kind. A tall glass layered with the goodness of rabdi, watermelon kulfi, fresh fruits, nuts, rose syrup, jelly, whipped cream and basil seeds, this one was epic. I especially loved the watermelon kulfi for its very cooling flavor. You can request for any other kulfi flavor to go with your falooda. After this one was finished (in seconds), we were brought the next tall glass of a creamy thick avocado shake Alhambra. Featuring avocado flavored kulfi with swirls of honey, this had a very soothing flavor, but the texture was too rich – almost like a meal in itself. It was so heavy, even the three of us found it a little difficult to finish it.

If you’re the kind of person who loves variety then you’ll be impressed with the kind of flavors Kulfilicious offers. The place almost keeps telling you to come over and over again to try out everything off the menu. While we loved most of the items we tried at Kulfilicious, my favorites at this place were the mango and kalakhatta barf gola, sultani falooda and banarasi paan kulfi stick.
