Work From Home – How I made it easier
Fulfilling dreams during #socialdistancing
While I love the concept in theory, in reality #workfromhome can be quite challenging – logistically, physically and emotionally. Getting a good internet connection and conducting #videoconferences with colleagues is sometimes way more time consuming than asking everyone to gather in Meeting Room C. Not everyone has work desks at home, which means you got to set up your workspace on a sofa, or worse on your bed, leading to all sorts of aches you never knew you could get.
And very specific to this situation we’re in, there is a lot of anxiety, emotional imbalance, and I especially have become so sensitive, that any trigger is enough to get me teary eyed and well on the way to a panic attack.
Overall, I’m not the one to sit at home all day. I need to get out, even if it’s just going to the gym or running errands, but the #stayhome situation doesn’t allow for that.
So in dire times, I occasionally turn to #retailtherapy, and thanks to a few things lining up, I finally got myself a #recliner from @panemirates
Ever since I attended their store inauguration @dubaifestivalplaza back in December, I had my eyes set on this piece. Luckily for me, when I decided to buy it, I found out this recliner came at a discount. So without too much contemplation, I placed the order, and well, it has certainly made my time at home much more #comfortable. It’s easy to sit straight when I’m working or having a #videocall and I can extend the leg rest for a quick 5 min relax time.
And although it’s not the healthiest thing to want to just sit all day, I think we all deserve to do a little of what we avoid usually and whatever helps us cope right now. So cut yourself a little slack 🙂
P.S. I don’t sit on the recliner all day. I do home workouts to stay fit.
