Garden | JW Marriott Marquis
Friday brunches can often get too mainstream, which is why we prefer stepping in the brunch zone a little early with a Thursday night brunch. A perfect way to kick off the weekend, Garden at the JW Marriott Marquis runs the Latino Gusto Backyard brunch every Thursday evening from 7 pm to 1130 pm and we landed there a day before 14th February to have our own little pre-Valentine soiree.
Truly backyard style, their breezy terrace makes the perfect choice for Dubai’s outdoor season. Plus, it’s located on one of the higher floors, which means you can expect it to be comparatively cooler even during the summers (although based on the patio heaters they had placed all around during my visit, I am pretty sure they will be adding coolers in the summertime).
The brunch was divided into different elements which offered various drinks, ceviches, live taco station, food served to your table and lots and lots of churrasco! Right from serve your own margaritas and sangrias on tap, to a backyard bar that whips up classic Latino drinks, you should make sure you have your sober driver on speed dial. The ceviches featured a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian variety, right from quinoa avocado salad to shrimps in a cone, tuna, calamari and more. The starters brought to our table included guac with tortilla, cheese rolls, empanadas and yuca fritters. Their taco station offered an option between beef, chicken and mushroom tacos on different tortillas, and you could load it up with your preferred sauces.
For the churrasco meats, we were instructed to place a card on our table that indicated on either side whether we were open to receiving more churrasco or if we were taking a break. How creative, no? Right from chicken and beef sausages to lamb chops and even grilled pineapple, the churrasco selection keeps coming in plenty. To go along with our meats, we were also presented with a chilli sauce that was freshly made at our table along with a black beans, corn on the cob and Mexican rice.
The buffet style desserts included a lovely chili chocolate fountain that paired brilliantly with their hot churros. But my ultimate favorite was their tres leches milk cake presented in tiny cocktail glasses (that I don’t remember how many I had).
With prices starting at AED 195, this brunch sure offers a lovely way to end the week at a beautiful spot in the city. I would definitely go back.

Night brunches are something I have come to love, especially if they’re on a Thursday and this one was just brilliant. When we visited it was really chilly, and the place will make a great option even in summers with a few coolers around. Love the spread and a special mention for their tres leches!
