A Cappella | The Pointe Palm
Highlighting the concept of a global tapas bar, A Cappella takes diners on a world tour of flavors with its small bites, uniquely creative dishes and gorgeous drinks. From the house of Passion F&B who’ve come up with brilliant restaurants like Tresind and Carnival by Tresind, A Cappella offers a fresh new take for night scene lovers and brings in surprisingly affordable fare to The Pointe Palm.
The passport menu features tapas styled food options from eight different countries, with more to be added in the coming few months and they’re a great mix of small bites, big plates and desserts. The dining area in A Cappella is built around a large open kitchen that houses both the cooking area and the bar. Featuring counter seating all around, this is a great attempt at creating an interactive dining experience.
We start with Old Fashioned and To The Pointe cocktails. While the former is a classic drink, the latter is picturesque drink made with passion fruit, cranberry and rosemary. We then move to Pani Puri Champenoise from the Indian menu. – a classic fusion dish, which IMHO is really a must have. We love the presentation, love the puri filling and love the spicy water. Then we are brought a couple of Lamb Chops from the Japanese menu. With so much flavor, the tandoori lamb chops marinated in Japanese shichimi soy are absolutely tender and served with miso dip on the side. After touring the East, we jump to the West with Cheese Burgers from the American menu. These slider sized pieces of deliciousness come with a juicy beef patty, mushroom ketchup and slim crispy stick fries. So good, you’ll want to go for a second portion too. For the veggies, you don’t have to sit out the sliders for there’s an Aloo Tikki option on the Indian menu that fits the bill just right. The crispy tikki sliders are equally tasty and we especially love the strong tamarind sauce and the lovely sweet sour flavor it adds to the mix.
It’s time for the second round of cocktails, and this time we coincidentally choose two similar looking drinks. I have a Sour Pour made with yuzu syrup and orange bitters, while my plus one goes for Barrelman featuring grapefruit syrup and lemon. This we have along with Tandoori Chicken from the Indian menu which is a truly remarkable dish. Very very juicy, very tender and very tasty, the chicken is every tandoori lovers dream. The baby chicken is cooked so perfect, it just melts in our mouth. Our bigger plate includes Crab Kari which comes with a side of porotta and steamed rice. Cooked Malay style, it is dotted with de-shelled mud crab meat and the gravy pairs up really well with both the carb options. Another bigger plate from the American menu is Mac n’ Cheese. I realize I have never loved mac n’ cheese so much before this one. The lobster meat and truffle infused sauce go so well with the pasta, this is definitely the dish I know I will be going back for.
One more round of drinks gives me the chance to try Chef’s Favorite made with raspberry marmalade, rhubarb apple and cucumber bitter. This one comes with a veggie taco as a side. And then there’s another Sour Pour made with hibiscus syrup for my plus one. For dessert, our first installment is the Italian Tiramisu. A really good twist on the classic, this tiramisu is a delight. The ice cream along with the chocolate swirl on top makes all the difference. And for the grand finale, we indulge in the American Chocolate Sphere. I may not be a dessert person, but give me brownies and I’m sold. With chunks of pecan brownie and a rich chocolate sauce, this sphere is an incredible dessert and certainly a must have.

So good in so many ways, this place is a must must visit. Whether you love a fun night out, fusion food, drinks or sheesha, you can get everything in one place paired with gorgeous views of Atlantis and the Palm. My favorite food items from everything we tried included the pani puri, cheese burgers, crab curry and lobster mac n’ cheese. The chocolate sphere was to die for.
