Memsaab | Healthcare City

Essentially Indian, Memsaab runs two outlets in Dubai – a bigger dine-in restaurant in JLT, and a smaller take away styled place in Healthcare City. Their menu covers a compact but ranging variety of Indian food, right from snacks and grills to curries and biryani. A lot of their dishes offer a unique taste, thanks to the use of homemade spices.

We got the chance to try this quaint restaurant in Healthcare City and were impressed in more than one way. Since we visited their smaller takeaway outlet, we saw a lot of their delivery orders being prepared and sent out through their delivery partners and we were really glad to see the organised manner in which they handled it. As soon as we were seated, we were told about the bestselling dishes and we went with everything the staff recommended.

We started with a complimentary portion of colorful namak para and jaljeera shots. I loved their fusion with the crispy mint and beetroot flavored sticks that went great with the yogurt and mint dips. Next up was our first starter – a classic mixed grill. This one came with chicken malai tikka, chicken tikka, pahari chicken tikka, and mutton seekh kebab. The malai tikka and seekh kebab were my favorites. For mains, we went with balti chicken and tawa gosht. The chicken was really good. It had a very distinct taste that you don’t usually find in regular chicken gravies. And as for the tawa gosht, I don’t usually enjoy mutton gravies too much, but this one was great. We paired both these gravies with a tandoori bread basket. Although we were really stuffed, we decided to go in with the staff recommended dessert gulab jamun and the effort they put in for the presentation was commendable.
