Indian Street Food Bazaar | Ewaan Palace Downtown
Indian theme nights just got a lot more interesting! Last Thursday, we were invited to a Desi extravaganza with the launch of Indian street food Bazaar at Palace Downtown. The first Indian theme night of its kind at Ewaam restaurant, it covers every aspect of Indian cuisine right from street food favorites like chaat and samosas to kebabs, curries and biryani, and of course, the endless selection of Indian desserts. Celebrating the various street food delicacies from around the cities of India, the restaurant is decked up with street style carts, lamps and arty pieces that embrace the spirit and taste of Indian cuisine.
Curated by Ewaan’s Executive Chef Avinash Mohan, the theme night offers lip-smacking street fare featuring over 50 delicious food dishes that you would love to indulge in. Located inside the gorgeous arabesque Palace Downtown Hotel that offers serene views of The Burj Lake, this Indian inspired gastronomical adventure is all set to kick start your weekends on a perfectly delicious note.
Let’s take a look at some mouthwatering pictures that will make you want Thursday to come in real real fast.
Welcome Drinks
We loved the choice of aam panna, lassi and roohafza for welcome drinks, and especially liked how they were meant to be served in matka glasses that make for a natural cooler
Chaat Station
This was a true delight! Offering everything from sev puri and papdi chaat to dahi wadas, this station came with a variety of condiments that allows you to pick and choose your favorite flavors to spice up (or sweeten) your chaat.
Pani Puri
The love of my life – Pani Puri – was served in petite shot glasses with sweet chutney or spicy water. They also have an option of boozy pani puri, so make sure you check it out if you’re a fan of that!
Snacks
The wada and samosa station was one we frequented too often along with the chaat cart. These fried goodies were the perfect compliment to the yogurt chaat and pani puri!
Mains
With a live outdoor barbeque and a selection of the same indoors, the grilled chicken, mutton and shrimps kebabs and tikkas were all done to a juicy tender perfection. The variety of main courses was simply magnificent. From curries to dal rice and my favorite Awadhi biryani, there was something to suit everyone’s tastes. The biryani is an absolute must have.
Desserts
The grand dessert display is not one to miss. Right from laddoo to barfi and kaju katri, along side classics like gulab jamun and halwa, the desserts are sure to tickle the taste buds of every sweet lover.
I found the matka kulfi just right to finish off my meal on a sweet note.
Tea Trolley
And we obviously couldn’t leave without a glass of cutting chai filled from the street style kettle and served with Parle G biscuits.
This all new Indian Street Food Bazaar takes place every Thursday evening in the gorgeous arabesque setting of at Palace Downtown. #RashidaReviews
A must visit for Indian food lovers, this theme night at Ewaan will satisfy all your cravings from Indian fare. It’s a great place to dine at with family and friends too. I loved the fact that along with Indian food they also have a sizeable selection of continental cuisine so no one goes back from the restaurant unhappy. My favorites from the theme night were the chaat station, biryani and cutting chai!
