Masala Craft | Indian Taste at Century Village
Another hidden gem in Century village, Masala Craft brings forth a host of traditional but crafty Indian dishes in a beautiful setting. The outdoors laced with river streams, and the dim lit interiors make it a perfect setting for an intimate dinner.
Pani Puri Shots
While we were almost expecting the usual papad basket, we were treated to this rather contemporary Amuse bouche in the form of pani puri shots. the filing was quite different – a warm mash of potatoes with spices, and the puris quite crispy. The spicy water in the shot glass was the best though. So good, I could keep having these.
Naked Colada & Lady Suzi
The most refreshing duo of mocktails, the pina colada on the left had a wonderful creamy coconut and pineapple flavor, while the fruit blend on the right combined sweet flavors of apple, orange and passion fruit with a dash of soda.
Chicken Tikka on Papdi
There’s something about street chaat combined with a traditional chicken based dish which adds an instant burst of fusion. Like this chicken tikka papdi chaat. The creamy melt-in-your-mouth chicken makes such a good contrast to the crispy papdi. And the presentation, spot on! Great with the mint chutney dip.
Hariyali Seekh
Green! That’s the color of food you’re always told to eat, so we decided to listen this time around and ordered this green hariyali seekh. Minced chicken flavored and coated with mint chutney added a nice mix of tangy flavors, and its clay oven charcoal grilled finish gave it a rustic look.
Achari Jheenga
As and when we moved forward with our dishes, the dishes got craftier! Like these gorgeous shrimps covered in a picked sauce and cooked in tandoor. The way they were brought to our table simply wowed us. The marination was just right and each bite highlighted the juiciness of the prawns.
Mutton Roganjosh + Tandoori Roti
I’m probably the last person to order a mutton main, but we’d already had a lot of chicken, and a little bit of seafood so we decided to go with this recommendation from the staff. The spicy gravy was as good as you’d expect it to be, but the tender mutton pieces are what I loved the most. Paired perfect with the hot tandoori roti.
Chicken Tikka Biryani
Is a visit to any Indian restaurant complete without biryani? When it comes to this rice preparation, nothing beats chicken for me. This biryani came with chargrilled chicken pieces and the rice was cooked with subtle flavors of saffron, cinnamon and all the essential garam masala spices. Not as spicy as I wanted it to be though
Kulfi
We thought we’d go for something small after having indulged in such heavy food, but although this bowl of kulfi looked petite, it packed a whole lot of creamy and rich punch in it. Pistachio and almond flavored, this one is just right for kulfi or ice cream lovers or even those who enjoy rich milk based desserts.
Mukhwas
I don’t usually write about the mukhwas served at the end of the meal, usually at the exit of a restaurant, but something about the presentation of this mouth freshener instantly grabbed my attention. I’d like to have one of those royal looking mukhwas holders at my home too!

#RashidaReviews
Been there for quite long, this Century Village Indian gem impresses with its crafty twist on Indian cuisine. I loved their chicken tikka on papdi and hariyali seekh. The biryani was quite good too, but a little spicier would have made it better.
