Oktoberfest | Brothaus Bakery & Bistro
It’s October! Which means it’s time for Oktoberfest! We decided to get totally German at the Oktoberfest celebrations in Steigenberger’s Brothaus Bakery & Bistro. All set for the Oktoberfest, you’ll find the place laden with little bits and pieces that bring the festivities to life.
Read on to find out what we tried from their exclusive Oktoberfest menu and make your way to Business Bay ‘cuz the festival goes on all the way until the 31st of October!
This the first thing that impressed me as soon as we entered the Brothaus Bakery & Bistro. They have an incredible collection of German bread, pretzels and more – which means lots of lovely bread baking smell wafts through the air at the restaurant. I was honestly very tempted to pick one of these and give it a little squeeze to hear that crunch.
In true Oktoberfest style, we started with Hofbrau Original and Paulaner Hefe draft brews.
Funny Story
We thought this was our first food item from the menu, but we were a little unsure why the pretzel didn’t have that pretzel shape. Nonetheless we loved it, and kept wondering if we should order one more portion. Thankfully, all that air was cleared when we received the actual pretzel starter and we realized this was just the German version of a bread basket!
Obatzda & Pretzel
Must have! These pretzels were the perfect combination of soft and salty. Just writing about it makes me crave them all over again! The chunky cheese dip on the side was quite similar in texture to cottage cheese. The portion is really good for sharing and you’ll be all set if you’re having this on your own. #RashidaRecommends
Rostbratwurst
I am glad we tried this. There is nothing like German roast beef sausage, really! And together with onions, it creates a unique flavor. While the Kaiser roll was slightly crusty on the ends, the in between was about right. I particularly loved dipping the fries in that mustard sauce. In fact, mustard just took the whole thing up a notch! We really need to give more importance to mustard over all those other calorie-laden dips, don’t we? The pickles were quite the twist.
Riesenschnitzel
This schnitzel in one word – HUGE! Living up to its giant fame, this pan fried breaded veal was all crispy from outside and tender inside. But I have to admit, I missed the classic chicken version of this dish. Imagine my happiness level had this been chicken! The fries were perfect, but what really impressed me was the creamy cucumber salad. So refreshing!
Rote Grutze
This German red berry pudding was just wow! It’s actually something I could possibly end up craving sometime in the future. It was like berry jam with vanilla ice cream – the flavors so bold, just like the colors and the dessert so smooth, at the same time chunky. It was indulgence, yes, but one I don’t regret.

#RashidaReviews
Make your Oktober count with the Oktoberfest festivities at Brothaus Bakery & Bistro. I loved loved loved their pretzels and I am most probably going to grab them asap ‘cuz all this writing is really making me crave them so much. I also loved the Rostbratwurst, but my only suggestion to them would be to offer more chicken items, so non-beef eaters can enjoy the brews and bites as much as everyone else!
