Blassa – a stylish sports bar for FIFA

The BIG FIFA games are about to begin and this spot in City Walk is the perfect place to watch your favorite teams battle it out on the field with good food, drinks and shisha! The modern and chic Blassa at La Ville has organized an air-conditioned tent just outside their wine bar Grapeskin, that features two large TVs playing live #FIFA matches with a cheering crowd, loudspeaker sound and all!

Whether you fancy a posh wine & cheese pairing or simply want to indulge in some shareable game night platters, this outdoor cafe turned Sports Bar has got you covered. We caught the much hyped #SouthKoreavsGermany and #SwedenvsMexico matches at Blassa and enjoyed the game along with the best of both food worlds.

Cheese & Wine

Our first course was a 3 cheese and wine pairing. It came along with a charcuterie selection, homemade bread and condiments.

The white German Riesling was paired with soft Brie cheese. This was followed by red Italian Chianti with semi-hard edam ball. And finally we had red South African Waterkloof Circle of Life with hard cheddar. The charcuterie selection included spicy beef salami and breasola accompanied by fruit bread, fig compote, crackers, breadsticks, olives, grapes and more.

Sports Bar Sharing Plates

Next up was the crowd favorite cheesy nachos. These were loaded with sour cream, salsa, jalapenos and guac. Must have!

For the next couple of dishes, we decided to go global with the Thai styled chicken skewers and traditional English fish n chips.

The skewers came served with a peanut dip and the fish with tartar on the side. The chips, dusted with dried oregano were incredible. One of the best fries I’ve had in #myDubai
