Mamatani – Emirati hospitality at its best
It’s not very often you come across a restaurant that stands true to what it preaches. Instilled so deeply with the essence of authentic Emirati hospitality, Mama Tani Cafe in Downtown Boulevard revives that feel-good appeal along with a delectable selection of food and beverages that makes you want to visit that place again, and again, and again.
Spread over a compact indoor space, coupled with semi-outdoor as well as al-fresco dining, Mama Tani is the melting pot of traditional meets modern. We were grateful to the team for arranging a sampling menu for us, that highlighted some of their favorite items on the list. Read on to find out more!

Taouk Khameer
One thing I loved the most about Mamatani Cafe is their stone baked khameer bread. In fact, most of their dishes are designed around these.
This Taouk Khameer sandwich came with a generous stuffing of chargrilled chicken and baked potato wedges along with the varied flavors of pickles, tomatoes and garlic sauce.
Tender in every bite, there wasn’t a single piece which felt dry or stale. The portion itself is massive for one, but if you’re keen on experimenting other dishes from their menu, I recommend you split it with your party. This sandwich is served alongside herbed potato fries. And if you know my love for fries, let me tell you, those are not ones to be missed.
Rose Pistachio Cake
This one is absolutely sweeeeeet! The Rose Pistachio cake Mamatani Cafe starts with a cream cheese frosting which reveals a nutty floral combination of pistachio sponge cake with rose filling within.
Garnished with more crushed goodness and a drizzle of rose syrup on the side, this dessert brings about a refreshing change from conventional regional desserts, and certainly hits the sweet spot.
