Coffee + Tea + Waterfront views = Coffeetea
Have you been to the Waterfront Market yet? This new mall/market, located right at the entrance of the Palm Deira site, boasts amazing views of the creek body and is all set to become the next waterside dining hub. CoffeeTea Fusion Cafe has been fortunate enough to open up shop just in time for the cooler months. But it’s not just the views that’ll make you want to go there again and again.
Their tea and coffee varieties are plenty, some of them quite exotic too, and their food offerings are quite the bomb, while also being totally insta-worthy. Read on to take a look at the location and get to know about their food and drinks!
Coffeetea
There’s coffee, and there’s tea, and then there’s coffeetea. Their signature offering, and sharing the same name as that of the cafe, coffeetea at CoffeeTea Fusion Cafe is a unique drink that combines blends of coffee and tea layers in one glass.
There are two ways to drink this:
1. Just drink the top layer of tea first, followed by the coffee base
OR
2. Give the concoction a gentle stir, such that the tea and coffee blends fuse with each other, and sip it slowly, allowing your taste buds to pick up the individual flavors of each drink along with a distinct combined essence that brings out the best of the beans and the leaves.
Topped with milk foam and coffee-tea spices, this hot drink is a refreshing one and definitely a must have.
Iced Teas
Remember when I said the tea variety CoffeeTea Fusion Cafe borders between exotic and exquisite. Well I didn’t use those exact words, but that’s what you get when you decide to give their iced teas a try.
After the hot signature coffeetea drink, we decided to chill a little with the Iced Butterfly Pea Tea (front) and Iced Matcha Milk Tea (back). The former came with pretty multicolored layers and a sweet flavor, while the latter, as the name suggests, came with a creamy Matcha flavored blend.
Given a choice, which one would you have?
Rooibos Chocolate Coconut Tea
Dubai weather is pretty confusing at the moment. It doesn’t let you decide whether you should feel warm or feel cool. So instead of sticking to either a hot or a cold beverage, we decided to alternate between both the temperatures.
After the signature coffeetea and the stylish iced teas, we decided to try one frm their ‘exotics’ collection. The Rooibos Chocolate Coconut Tea came in all its teapot glory, flaunting a Japanese-esque look. The glass facade made it all the more appealing, as did the tiny glass cups.
But what really stood out was the exotic fragrance of tea leaves mingling with strong coconut and mild chocolate aromas. Being a coconut lover, I was smitten from the very second this blend arrived and I couldn’t have been happier after tasting its exotic mix of flavors.
While I had this without milk and sugar, I would love to try it with those additions in my next visit.
Have you ever tried coconut tea?
Nacho Burger
It’s Na-cho regular Burger. It’s the Nacho Burger.
Coffeetea is all about fusion. There’s fusion in their drinks, their snacks and their burgers. So when we were given an option of five different burgers to choose from, which included the likes of Vegan Heaven and Coffee Burger, we felt like something crunchy and decided to try out the Nacho Burger.
Packed with all the basics, this one comes with a juicy beef patty and a generous helping of crunchy nacho chips drenched in their homemade cheese sauce. That hearty portion of house fries is a star all by itself, and had it not been for these pictures, they would have been cleaned off in an instant.
While the burger oozes with deliciousness, my only tiny disappointment was that I couldn’t eat it the way you’re supposed to eat a burger, for the fear of the sauce falling all over me. While the presentation is top notch, you’ll have to eat it with fork and knife, more like an open sandwich. Even then, it’s worth a try. As for me, I’ll be indulging in the coffee infused burger on my next visit.
Dynamite Shrimps
Do these even need an introduction?
These Dynamite Shrimps CoffeeTea Fusion Cafe were absolutely bomb. They were so perfect, just the first bite into that crunchy spicy juicy goodness, and they instantly got onto my list of “Must have dynamite shrimps in Dubai”.
No matter how highly I speak of them, the real magic lies in the shrimps itself. Even if you’re not a tea or coffee drinker, just head over to Waterfront Market for this one dish. With that homemade dynamite sauce coating, lettuce base and the perfectly crispy texture, these shrimps will make your visit totally worth it.
Waffles
Savory or sweet? Which is your preferred waffle?
To be honest, ever since I tried chicken with waffles, my loyalties have been slightly skewed towards the savory ones, but every now and then when Nutella makes an entry, the balance starts to set in. But wait, this is Coffeetea. Everything here is fusion, even the waffles. So at our recent visit, we decided to try out one of each.
We started off with the savory Mashed Potato Waffle. Filled with layers of mashed potatoes and turkey bits, this waffle portion came drenched in their homemade cheese sauce. I loved how the creamy mash and sauce perfectly constrasted the crunchiness of the waffle and went hand in hand with the little chewy ham bits within. This was just one of three items under this section which also included Falafel Waffle and Pepperoni Pizza Waffle. The very thought of pepperoni in a waffle is making me want to go back.
For the sweet one, we went with the highly recommended Lemon Curd Waffle. I know what you’re thinking – lemon curd? Yes, it was slightly sour-er than expected and I missed my nutella in there, but the vanilla ice cream top-off and scattered walnut pieces made a save. Even then, I wouldn’t really order this one again.
Maybe give that Bounty Waffle a try – hoping it’s got something to do with coconut.
