Homegrown street food favorites at My Shawarma

Homegrown concepts are always a great, especially when they excel at both good food and good service. One such place is My Shawarma.

Situated in the busy locality of Barsha and a stone’s throw away from Mall of the Emirates, My Shawarma brings together the Middle Eastern street favorite shawarma, and presents it in a blend of urban industrial and traditional local setting that’s sure to amaze you from the minute you step in.

From piped ceilings and high tables to rustic grocery styled oil cans, sauces and pickle jars, this place is a discovery of sorts.

Food

Their concept of eat fresh led us to trying out their house specials – Arabic Shawarma, Fattoush and Shawarma platter. I can’t really put a finger to what was my favorite, but well, if I had to choose one, the Arabic Shawarma would get the top marks.

The meat in both the shawarma dishes was extremely tender, very well spiced and served hot off the doner. Their breads too had a uniquely soft texture that you don’t really find in regular khubz breads.

The fattoush added a fresh crunchy mix to the menu with its veggies and fried bread. And those fries and hummus were great! One of the good ones I’ve had with shawarma.

All in all, try out this place if you’re a shawarma fan. They also have global flavors on their shawarma menu like Greek, American, Mexican and more.
