Get in the Flow at this all day breakfast spot
When the place is so welcoming, there isn’t much you can do but just go with the Flow!
Located in the otherwise corporate Jumeirah Emirates Tower Boulevard, Flow almost magically transforms into a colorful, chirpy, crafty spot on weekends, making it perfect for all day breakfast. Although they have a lot more on their menu than just basket which includes sandwiches, salads and vegan options, I was really impressed with their global variety of breakfast favorites and decided to stick to those for my Saturday morning beat.
Open from 7 am to 8 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 5 pm on weekends, this is the ideal spot for corporate and social needs.
And P.S. There’s a lot of sunlight in there!
Before I indulge into all that goodness and start making you feel those hunger pangs kicking in, check out how colorful, airy and spacious this place is.
Perfect for a relaxed late meal, or coffee or even for working on the laptop, you will surely find a spot that’s cozy enough for your visit. They also have a little library inside, so you can stay there for hours and read away.
Caffe Latte
Coffee is almost as synonymous to breakfasts like oxygen is to life. Too much exaggeration, I know. But isn’t coffee your favorite too?
This aromatic blend at Flow is made from Brazilian coffee beans which bring out a strong flavor and a dense texture in the brew. Owing to its strength, I opted to go for the flat white, but Flow also has another blend of coffee which offers a more fruity flavor. So if you like you coffee sans milk, but slightly less strong, you can always opt for that.
Look at that picturesque coffee art though. That’s the best thing about these brews, ain’t it?
Date Smoothie
When at Flow, for breakfast especially, it isn’t a good idea to say no to their smoothies. Why? Because they are so amazingly good.
This date smoothie impressed my guest even though he cannot stand the sight of dates (thankfully only the fruit, if you know what I mean). Made with a combination of dates and banana with oats in almond milk, this is as healthy as can get. Plus, it is good for an early as well as late breakfast, and I know this because we were there for the latter. Perfect for refueling a hungover soul, this is one thing I would love to go back for.
Shakshuka
Say Shak. Say Shuka. Say hello to this healthier version of Shakshuka.
With its classic tomato and eggs in place, the Shakshuka at Flow is enhanced with spinach, Kalamata olives, cottage cheese and harissa yoghurt. How interesting to amplify a Middle Eastern dish with a Middle Eastern touch!
Crispy coriander finishes the garnish and whole wheat flat bread makes a perfect accompaniment to soak up all that tomatoey goodness.
Eggs Arlington
After Shakshuka, it was time for another round of eggs, only this time it was more international than local. These Eggs Arlington are quite similar to Eggs Benedict, except they come with smoked salmon instead of turkey ham and a whole wheat muffin instead of a croissant. I anyway opted for the turkey ham, since my love for poultry is greater than that for surf.
Again healthy just like the Shakshuka, this one features hen eggs topped with yoghurt hollandaise and came with a lovely side of sliced avocados sprinkled with paprika. I had the eggs well done instead of leaving it runny, just because that was my mood for the morning. I do like them runny sometimes 😊
These kind of eggs are quite good for breakfast. One, because they come on a whole wheat muffin with low fat turkey meat. And two, they almost meet the need for “avocados on toast”, only this time they are on the side.
The good thing about these breakfast items at Flow is that, they are very affordable, and the portions are good for one, which means you will not end up overeating or stuffing yourself. Go on, give it a try. If you are in or around DIFC, this place is definitely worth a stop.
Blueberry Waffles
When I have to choose between waffles, pancakes and French toasts, I prioritize them in this very order. So at Flow, I opted for the Blueberry Waffles. Now the good thing about these waffles was that they were guilt free, because they were made with whole wheat. Plus, there were no sugary syrups or heavy cream drowning the waffles in loads of calories.
This healthy variety came topped with a slightly tangy, slightly sweet honey lime yoghurt and blueberry confit. It was garnished with toasted almonds and coconut flakes along with some blueberries on the side. The best part – well, there are two. One was the floral garnish that added such a summery touch. And second was the avocado smoothie shot on the side, giving it all that healthy appeal!
Try this out. And you will definitely feel the difference!
