Traditional Emirati & contemporary Khaleeji treats at Logma
You cannot claim to be a true Dubaiite, and a lover of Emirati cuisine if you haven’t tried this. Logma, centered around childhood favorites and authentic regional cuisine, brings about a fusion of traditional Emirati food with contemporary Khaleeji treats.
As soon as you enter Boxpark, you instantly get drawn towards the energy that emanates from Logma. The welcoming atmosphere and positive vibes has made this Boxpark signature a top spot among locals and expats alike. Infusing a little culture into their modern interiors, Logma features wooden panels, thatch accents on walls, camel embroidered thread work on chairs, lantern style lighting and so much more. Even the headgear worn by staff is a delight!
Logma is one of those rare gems that has garnered a wide popular acceptance and critical acclaim for its food variety and service.
This post in my two cents on our menu tasting at Logma.
Egg Paratha and Karak
Whether you’re starting your morning or snacking at evening, there’s nothing like egg paratha and Karak. We obviously started our late breakfast at Logma with these classics.
Rolled up in a flaky crunchy thick paratha, the creamy omelette is well whisked with cheese, tomato and coriander for that familiar taste we all love.
The Karak chai in the backdrop is as authentic as can be. One sip of this soothingly warm concoction and you know you have come to the right place.
Honestly, this in itself was quite filling. But I was preparing for my visit to Logma for long, so having a little more appetite (and no dinner the previous night) helped me quite a lot. And after all there was no way we could say no to all that Logmatastic food!
Logma Fries
Whoever said fries were bad hadn’t tried the Logma fries yet. I have so much to say about how I’m in love with these fries, I honestly don’t know where to start.
Well, Logma Fries is the most signature bestselling dish at the eatery. These freshly cut spud slices are oh so generously spiced with their secret mix of Khaleeji spices and crisp herbs, it takes the flavor and crunch to a whole new level. These fries are so famous, you’ll definitely see one portion (or more) on every table. So much so, that you can go to Logma and order just these, and no one will judge you.
Samboosa Cheese
Next up was another bestseller from Logma. I was confused between Khaleeji wings and Samboosa Cheese and we were suggested we go with these. And I’m glad we did.
Covered in a thin pastry sheet and fried to crisp perfection, these cheese samboosa pieces hide extremely creamy cheesy goodness within mixed with the classic childhood favorite combination – Oman chips!
The cheese is so decadent, it’s like biting into a cloud, really! And the spicy dusting of their secret spices on top just makes them look so picture perfect.
Having said that, Khaleeji wings will definitely be on my table on my next visit.
Passion of Arabia and Atlantis
As refreshing in taste as they are by looks, the Passion of Arabia and Atlantis are two of the really good mocktails at Logma.
Passion of Arabia, as the name suggests, comes with a passion fruit and pineapple blend. What I really loved about this drink was the addition of fresh passion fruit seeds.
Atlantis was quite close to a Mojito with its fresh mint and lime inclusions. But what made it different was the lychee and passion fruit mix.
Other creatively named drinks include Desert Oasis, Palm Island and Sunset – all so close to home.
If I could have, I would have tried them all, but well, there’s only so much goodness that two people can take in. Plus it gives me a good reason to go back for more!
Logma Shrimp Rice
Shrimps. Yes, the very thought of shrimps is so divine, it makes your soul light up with positivity.
I know, that was a little too much, but hey, I love shrimps. And when I saw how these beauties were presented in the Logma Shrimp Rice, there was nothing at that point that could make me happier.
Very much like an Indian biryani, this aromatic rice dish features long grain rice dotted with tender cooked shrimps and flavored with fragrant whole spices including star anise, bay leaves, cloves and cardamom pods.
Each spoonful was infused with so much flavor, it was simply perfect. This rice dish was paired up with the yogurt based raita sauce for an authentic touch.
They also have the same rice preparation with served chicken or beef, so make sure you don’t leave Logma without one of these.
Chebab Katayef
Here’s to all the deliciousness oozing out of this Chebab Katayef at Logma.
A dessert worth its weight in gold, this locally inspired favorite comes with a crispy fried Chebab pancake stuffed with creamy mascarpone cheese and sticky dates. The rich cheese filling instantly took me back to one of my favorite desserts from childhood – Malai puff.
The pancake is placed over and soaked in a sugary saffron cardamom syrup and served alongside sweet vanilla ice cream.
Must must must have. Just be sure to have a large appetite!
Emirati Coffee
What better way to end an Emirati meal than with an Emarati style coffee? Served in an authentic fashion with a silver jug and small cups, this black coffee was accompanied with dates (another local favorite). This came highly recommended by our server who assured us the coffee would perfectly complement the Chebab Katayef. And it did.
I really recommend you try out Logma. It’s definitely worth a visit. And then one more. And then one more.
