Moreish Cafe – More Delicious, More Stylish
How often have you come across someone who has given up a regular comfortable life to step out of the daily grind and truly follow their passion? Only in movies and books, right? But that’s the real life story of Kajal Narang, winner of popular television show Foodshala’s Season 4. She has given wings to her dreams in the form of the new Moreish Cafe located in Oud Metha.
Always been a passionate chef with a special liking for Thai cuisine, Kajal realised how confusing and time consuming it was for families and friends to select a place to eat out which would cater to everyone’s taste; from age 6 to 65! This is why her menu at Moreish Cafe includes everything from classics to innovative special dishes, which combines Thai, Mexican and Italian cuisines, of course with an Indian touch.
This cosy restaurant is the perfect place to chill out with friends or work on your laptop while munching on some delicious bites. It has an outdoor seating area as well – great for this season. Plus, you can spend some time tic-tac-toe-ing while waiting for your order to arrive.
Pan charred all star mushroom soup
This is one of the most soothing mushroom soups I’ve had this winter. The best part about this at Moreish Cafe is that it’s flavored with a hint of truffle oil. Well, they call it ‘a hint’, but they are just being humble. We felt the earthy fragrance of truffle take over our senses with every sip. The creamy and warm soup is served along with a parsley studded crostini bread which makes the perfect accompaniment to this comforting soup.
Other soups on their menu include the High street clear noodle soup and the classic Tom Yum soup, both which can be ordered vegetarian or with an addition of chicken or prawns.
Jalapeño Kick
How about a spicy Mojito kick? That’s possible with the Jalapeño Kick from the mocktail menu at Moreish Cafe. Spiced with jalapenos and sweetened with green apple, this Mojito gives you the best of both – sweet and spicy flavors. The mint and lemon garnish completes this Mojito’s tangy refreshing appeal.
If you’re not a fan of these spicy peppers, you can go for the lemony and lychee Evolution, tangy orange Blue Margarita, citrusy Sunset or Strawberry Breeze.
In the mood for indulgence? Try their chocolate, strawberry our red velvet frappe. At Moreish, you can be sure they will have something for everyone’s tastes!
Chef’s Special Watermelon Feta Salad
That’s a whole lot of colors and a whole lot of flavors on one plate. Plus it’s a salad, and a super healthy one at that!
This delicious Chef’s Special Watermelon Feta Salad comes with chilled watermelon pieces, fresh arugula leaves and crumbled feta cheese.
The creaminess of the cheese, and sweetness of watermelons is enhanced with crispy sesame tuile flakes and ginger ribbons and drizzled with a strong balsamic vinaigrette dressing to balance out all those flavors. On our visit, we unfortunately missed the smoky presentation of this salad on a bed of dry ice, but you won’t! Go there and order this chef’s special! Craving it so much, I might actually end up having this tonight!
Filo Prawns
With a thin layer of Filo pastry covering them, these Filo Prawns at Moreish Cafe wrap juicy canapé prawns within.
There is something really unique and interesting about these appetizers. The light and crispy crepe-like pastry, even though it’s fried, does not give out an oily feel.
Moreover, the spicy curry mayo on the side is free from the heaviness you have come to expect from the usual mayo sauces. And it offers an Indian twist of flavors making this quite a fusion dish. Prawn lovers like me should definitely order this.
Chicken Skewers
Infused with the fragrant aroma of lemongrass, these chicken skewers at Moreish pack in a variety of different flavors.
The chicken thighs are marinated to tender perfection with Thai spices and lemongrass giving them a zesty-tangy flavor. To top it off, they are drizzled with smoked pepper emulsion and orange reduction.
So juicy, so perfect, these are the new age satay.
Lemongrass cottage cheese skewers
It doesn’t have to be all fun for chicken lovers and none for the herbivores. At Moreish, you get a variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, so no matter your preference, you bam customize the dish stout your palate.
These lemongrass infused cottage cheese skewers are very much like their chicken counterparts, except the chicken is replaced with soft bite-sized morsels of fresh cottage cheese marinated in Thai spices.
These paneer pieces are played over smoked pepper sauce and topped with a delicious dollop of lemongrass flavored pesto. With so many flavors in each bite, plus the creaminess of cottage cheese – this appetizer is a dream come true.
Burrito bowl
Everything at Moreish is so colorful and visually appealing, it tempts your sight way before you can devour all that goodness.
This veggie burrito bowl is filled with everything delicious. Starting with Chipotle Mexican beans and on a bed of Spanish rice, this delicacy is topped with mixed peppers and veggies, creamy sour cream, spicy Pico and the very cheesy melted cheese.
You can add chicken or prawns to make it meaty for an additional charge, and I am definitely going to try and get everything in the next time I’m around.
Honestly, this burrito bowl is so healthy and filling, despite the cream and cheese, it totally makes a great one dish dinner. It’s got everything you need – rice, beans, veggies, cheese – all the proteins, carbs and fats you need in one delicious plate.
And c’mon, what more could you ask for? Highly recommend this dish at Moreish (rhymes, no?)
Moreish special spicy Paneer wrap
Paneer makes the world a better place. Don’t you agree?
This cottage cheese wrap did just that for me. The Moreish special spicy Paneer wrap has more than one thing to love about.
First of all the green tortilla. It is just so much prettier, ain’t it?
Second, the crispy crumbed cottage cheese patty stuffed within the wrap along with bell peppers and a spicy green sauce. This fried Paneer patty was not at all oily, so don’t get worried on that part.
And third, the fries. You know I love fries. Actually we all do. And these were so fresh, hot and crispy. Irresistible!
It’s like having Paneer sabzi with roti, but in the form of a wrap. So healthy, so delicious. This one is a chef’s favorite, so you definitely can’t go wrong when you order this!
Moreish special Chocolate Lotus mousse
That is undoubtedly one of the sweetest things somebody has done for me on a plate of sweet goodness. The wonderful Moreish Cafe presented the Moreish special Chocolate Lotus mousse in a very personalized manner, giving the whole experience an icing on the cake!
This dessert blends melted chocolate and crushed lotus into a mousse consistency that’s so creamy, each spoonful melts in your mouth like a dream, leading you towards the next one. It is in fact, so delicious, your hands function like clockwork towards the next bite before you have even finished one.
Moreish Cafe has another interesting dessert called Chocolate spa which has a unique presentation. We were too full to try that out, but it is definitely on the cards for my next visit.
