Fall in Love with Eggs at Raju Omlet
What better than eggs to start your day? I’ll tell you. It’s a menu with an unending variety of dishes – all made with eggs.
I’m talking about none other than Raju Omlet. This was in my “must visit restaurants” list since quite sometime and I finally got a chance to try out their food last night. And wow, was I impressed? From great tasting food (obviously) to their super quick and friendly service, Raju Omlet scores high in every way.
Don’t miss their beautifully designed new outlet in Safeer Mall, Sharjah – what with old photographs on the walls, extensive memorabilia, an old gramophone and radio – that makes you feel like you’re in a quaint Parsi café set in a different time. Let’s go through a few of their best sellers and signature dishes.
Look at that delicious spread of everything egg (barring the tea of course!)
Each and every food item on Raju Omlet’s menu features egg in one form or another. At a glance, this is everything we had – one omelette, one curry with paratha, a couple of rolls and their Mumbai styled tea.
The famous chicken tikka egg roll starts with the classic anda paratha and is enhanced with a spicy mix of chicken tikka rolled within.
Perfect for a quick bite or an entire meal, the portion is great for one person and will pair nicely with one of Raju Omlet’s chai selection – cutting maybe?!
If you’re a veggie, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t visit Raju Omlet. Being the hospitable people they are, these guys make sure they have something for the vegetarians too. Like this spicy potato roll which comes with perfectly cooked spiced diced potatoes flavored with their secret blend of spices to tantalize your taste buds. It is rolled up in a neat paratha to make a perfect meal. Have this one with adrak chai (ginger flavored tea).
Highly recommended! You must have this. The Cheese Masala Omlet comes filled with delicious cheddar cheese and was custom made spicy with extra green chillies to suit our taste. It is absolutely soft, creamy and so fresh. Plus you can choose to have it with pav bread or paratha.
This is the kind of stuff weekend mornings are made of. And I’m definitely going back one of these weekends to try out more of their delicious omelette variety – probably the Power Omlet with spinach or the one with mushrooms or corn or egg whites or half fry… Okay I think you got the idea!
Absolute deliciousness! This eggilicious chef’s special is known as the Chatpata Boiled Tikka and features a tomato-onion based tangy gravy spiced with kashmiri red chilli powder, green chillies, garlic and ginger. And then it is very generously topped with sliced boiled eggs.
We had this with paratha but you can choose to have it with bread as well.
And of course, if you are not into egg gravies and egg bhurji dishes, you can always opt for their veg masala Paneer bhurji or green gravy!
Not satisfied with eggs for dinner? Or want to keep those omelettes reserved exclusively for breakfast? Try the new dinner menu at Raju Omlet which features best sellers like murgh makhni, kebabs, paneer tikka masala, tawa pulao, dal bhurji and much more.
This one’s available after 7 pm until 1130 pm, so plan your visit accordingly 🙂
Here, end your day with this soothing, at the same time refreshing cup of tea from Raju Omlet, the way I ended mine last night.
I know most people drink tea to stay awake, but I can have the cups and yet fall off to sleep.
In this picture: the authentic Cutting Chai from the road side tea stalls of Mumbai and Adrak Chai with a touch of digestion friendly ginger.
It’s just classic the way they present it in a glass holder. Even the glasses are so Mumbai-esque. And of course, there’s Mr. Egg looking all smart!
I had two of these. And if you’re a tea fan, you should too.
