Why kebabs?

I have often come across people who are madly in love with kebabs.

What are kebabs?

They are simply morsels of tender meat, bathed in a creamy, often spicy marinade, perfectly seasoned with chillies, grilled over flaming charcoal and served hot with a fiery chutney. Ok, now I get it!

This post is about one of those kebabs. Trust me, there are a lot of other kebabs lined up in a queue, waiting to make their appearance on this stage, but this is about one of them – The Reshmi Kebab from India Palace Restaurant, Garhoud.

The speciality of this dish is, well, that it’s an ideal example of kebab. It fits perfectly in the kebab description I wrote up there.

As the name suggests, boneless chicken bites are marinated in a creamy, ‘reshmi’ mixture of cheese, yoghurt and spices. They are then kept aside to soak in all that velvety goodness. Once tenderized, they are cooked over a flaming charcoal grill so impeccably, that you will never, I repeat never come across a raw bit of meat. These melt in the mouth chicken pieces are served on a sizzler plate with cucumbers, carrots, lettuce and of course a serving of spicy green chutney on the side with some yoghurt just enough to balance out the zing. india-palace-2

For AED 36, it makes a fair share of appetizer for two people. If you happen to be on a kebab spree, you can also try out their Murg Malai Kebab for a creamy delight, Murg Tikka Shole for a spicy kick or just opt for the Tarah Tarah Ke Kabab which priced at AED 60, offers an assorted platter of non-veg kebabs.
